Visual Nexus Service

Download and Install FAQs on the Visual Nexus Service

1. Connection Problems

If there is a problem with your network connection, when you try to run Visual Nexus for the first time you will most likely see ‘Error 104’ in the Activity Log and red network status bars at the bottom of Meeting Manager.
.
There are 4 possible reasons for this error:

  • There is an error in the address of the Meeting Server in your user profile . Check you have entered the address correctly. The address should be vnms.visualnexus.net
  • A firewall is preventing you accessing the meeting server. Check that your personal firewall is not blocking the Visual Nexus Client from accessing the Internet. Three programs need acccess; the Meeting Manager (VNMeetingMgr.exe), eConf Player (ftplayer.exe) and Secure Transport client Proxy (hcproxy.exe). You should allow all three as exceptions within your firewall when you first run Visual Nexus.
  • You may need to enter the Server address http://vnms.visualnexus.net:8080 as a Trusted Site in Internet
Explorer. You can do this from Internet Explorer by selecting Tools / Internet Options / Security / Trusted
sites / Sites. Ensure that ‘https’ is NOT selected when you add the Meeting Server as a Trusted Site.
  • You have selected a network adapter in your user profile that is invalid or inactive.

2. Audio and video problems

When you run Visual Nexus for the first time the endpoint configuration wizard runs to set up audio levels and to prevent echo on audio.  If you have problems with either the audio or video when you try to use Visual Nexus most problems can be corrected by re-running the endpoint configuration wizard.  To find out how to do this please click on this link.

3. Installation problems

To install Visual Nexus on your Windows computer you must have administrator rights.  If you see error messages during the software install please check that account you are installing it under has administration rights.

If you see an error 902 when you run the software the user profile has some incorrect information.  Edit your user profile, go to details and uncheck the override server setting box.  Save the profile and the error should be fixed.
